Coordinator of Rights Now! Forum for Democracy, an entity that brings together representatives from different parties and civil society, Fernando Guimarães proposed, at a meeting of the Council for Sustainable Economic and Social Development this Wednesday (10), that the body be constitutionalized.
The measure would guarantee that the Council has a permanent existence and is not at the mercy of the current government. Today, the body exists due to a decree by President Luiz Inácio da Silva, which can be revoked if the opposition takes power.
Present at the meeting, Lula listened to the suggestion, which was applauded by the plenary, with more than 200 advisors, representing civil society.
