The neo-Austrian, seeded number five, ended the second round match against the Turkish woman early on Thursday with a score of 1:6, 0:2. The reason for their abandonment was initially unknown. Serena Williams’ comeback in London ended before the quarterfinals due to an injury to her doubles partner Victoria Mboko.
