From “worthless” trinkets, to earrings, rings and watches, to a 278,000 euro white gold necklace with “diamonds” and “two natural emeralds” from “Zambia”. The expert report carried out by the Ansorena jeweler and the Spanish Gemological Institute details each of the jewels found in the safe in the office of the former president of the Government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, which have been valued at 1,323,915 euros. The document, to which EL PAÍS has had access, has taken the judge of the National Court in charge of the Plus Ultra case to open a separate piece to investigate the socialist for an alleged tax crime and another smuggling crime, apart from what he would have done to get the Government to grant a bailout of 53 million euros to the airline in 2021.
