World Cup: Brazil presents Morocco with unofficial shirt – 06/12/2026 – Sport

The Brazilian ambassador to the United States, Maria Luiza Viotti, presented the Moroccan diplomat in Washington, Youssef Amrani, with an unofficial Brazilian team shirt, at an event last week (5).

Right at the beginning of the meeting, which lasted around an hour, Viotti and Amrani exchanged shirts of the countries they represent. Brazil and Morocco face each other in the debut of both teams in the World Cup, on Saturday (13), at 7 pm.

The Moroccan presented Viotti with an apparently official uniform from the 2025 line of his country’s team, produced by Puma. The Brazilian diplomat gave Amrani a shirt that is not part of the team’s official line of uniforms.

When contacted, the Embassy stated that the shirt had a symbolic nature and was part of a gesture of courtesy associated with the World Cup. “Considering the short period between the conception of the initiative and the holding of the event, a possible solution was chosen to enable the exchange of shirts between diplomatic representatives”, he stated.

The model delivered does not appear in the list of official uniforms of the Brazilian team for the World Cup, produced by Nike, nor among the team’s training shirts for the tournament. The piece can be found for sale on Amazon for R$198.35 and, according to the advertisement, is produced by the manufacturer Cnins.

Exchanging shirts is a diplomatic tradition between representatives of countries. In 2025, for example, former right-back Cafu handed over an autographed Brazilian team shirt to Pope Leo 14.
