Psolistas and USP debate social housing – 06/12/2026 – Panel

LabCidade, from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at USP, and PSOL will hold the HIS na Pauta seminar this Monday (15th), at 5:30 pm, at the City Hall of .

The event aims to debate the impacts and challenges of ensuring São Paulo’s Legislative year.

The seminar asks questions such as “Is HIS real housing or a real estate financial product? What is the future of housing in São Paulo?”

The tables will have as debaters councilor and urban planner Nabil Bonduki (PT), FGV professor and Cebrap coordinator Bianca Tavolari, and urban planner and LabCidade coordinator, Paula Santoro.

Also present will be the urban planner and coordinator of LabCidade, Raquel Rolnik, the national coordinator of BR Cidades, Celso Carvalho, the coordinator of the MTST for risk and climate adaptation plans, Caroline Giavera, and Evaniza Rodrigues, leader of the Union of Housing Movements (UMM).

The proposal, according to the organizers, is to contribute to the construction of proposals capable of facing the transformation of popular housing into a financial asset and strengthening public policies aimed at guaranteeing the right to decent housing.

A CPI, held at the City Council with the aim of investigating the distortion of popular apartments, suggested changes in the application of incentives to developers.
