There will be no nuclear negotiations without an interim agreement being implemented, says Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Friday that nuclear talks with the United States should only take place at a later stage and would not move forward unless an already proposed interim agreement is implemented, state TV reported.

According to him, the interim agreement should include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the end of conflicts on several fronts, adding that a memorandum of understanding has not yet been signed and may be subject to change.

Araqchi stated that the management of the Strait of Hormuz should not return to the pre-war situation. He further added that sovereignty over the strait belongs to Iran and Oman and that his country must guarantee the safe passage of ships through the area.
