The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchí, stated that Iran could sign a memorandum of understanding with the United States in “the coming days”, digitally and not in person.
“We are closer than ever right now and we hope it will happen in the coming days,” Araqchí said in a statement on Iranian state television.
“If approved, the agreement will be signed remotely,” said the head of Iranian diplomacy, contradicting information from the United States that points to a possible signing in a European city.
According to Araqchí’s version, the agreement has two parts, the first refers to the release of Iranian assets blocked abroad, the lifting of both the US and Iranian blockade of Hormuz and the end of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.
The diplomat also assured that Iran will establish a control system for Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil transited before the war.
In the second part of the agreement the nuclear issue would be addressed later, according to the Iranian politician.
Araqchí considered that “Iran is the winner of the war with the United States”, a country that could not, in his opinion, defeat the Islamic Republic.
