Woman dies after being thrown without ropes during rope jump

A woman died after being thrown 40 meters high without ropes during a rope jumping activity this Saturday in Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo.

The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that the Military Police (PM) and the Fire Department have been responding to the incident since 9:55 am this morning on the Ponte do Esqueleto trail, in Limeira. “According to preliminary information, the victim was participating in a rope jumping activity. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was called and confirmed his death at the scene”, reported.

According to a statement from the Military Police, the victim participated in the activity accompanied by instructors. “At the time of the jump, the safety equipment had not been properly secured, which resulted in a fall from a great height, causing multiple trauma,” the corporation wrote.

Still according to the PM, the people present at the scene provided first aid to the victim, performing CPR maneuvers until the arrival of the SAMU team, but the victim did not resist.

The incident remains ongoing and the case is being registered by the Civil Police.

The company has not yet been identified.
