The United States military received a directive on Friday (19) to lift the American blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, as long as the agreement with Iran is signed, according to an American official.
US President Donald Trump originally announced on Sunday (14) that, following an agreement with Tehran, he would authorize “the immediate removal of the United States naval blockade” of Iranian ports.

In a statement released on Sunday night, the Iranian government stated that “the text of a memorandum of understanding on negotiations to end the war” had been finalized.
“In accordance with the understandings reached, the war and military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, will be brought to an immediate and permanent end from this evening. Furthermore, immediately and completely,” Iran said in a statement.
Tehran also claims that the document will be signed next Friday and welcomes the efforts of Pakistan and Qatar to mediate the negotiations.
