President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva issued Provisional Measure 1,367, which opens extraordinary credit – outside of fiscal targets – of R$337.483 million for the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
According to the text published in Official Gazette of the Union (DOU)the amounts will be used to prevent and control forest fires in priority federal areas and other environmental control and inspection actions.
The resources are to comply with decisions of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) in ADPFs 743 and 760, focused on combating deforestation and preventing fires in the Amazon and Pantanal.
