Chamber authorizes remote sessions and holds votes during Saint John’s week

The Chamber of Deputies released the remote voting system via Infoleg for all deliberative sessions until the beginning of the parliamentary recess, scheduled for mid-July. The decision was communicated to federal deputies this Monday (15) and the Young Pan had access to the document.

The statement, the result of a meeting of the College of Leaders held on June 9, informs although there will be deliberative sessions every week of the periodincluding during the week of the São João holiday, on June 24th, the date on which parliamentarians usually return to their states of origin for political commitments and regional events.

The release of remote voting allows deputies to participate in votes without the need for physical presence in the Chamber plenary, in Brasília. The Infoleg system, the House’s digital platform, has already had been used during the Covid-19 pandemic and was used again in specific situations in the following years.
