He Begoña Gómez case This Monday he lived another long day in the court headed by magistrate Juan Carlos Peinado. The instructor has conducted a preliminary hearing for more than three hours in the process that keeps Begoña Gómez, the wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, charged. According to the law, and the other two defendants: Cristina Álvarez, his advisor in La Moncloa; and the businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés. The event has also led to popular accusations – led by the ultra-Catholic association Hazte Oír and which is calling for 24 years in prison for the president’s wife – to request that the PSOE leader’s wife’s passport be withdrawn, she be prohibited from leaving the country and she be forced to appear in court every 15 days. Legal sources indicate that the magistrate does not plan to rule this Monday on the request to restrict his movements.
