FIFA (International Football Federation) released the referee schedule for the match between Brazil and Haiti, which will be played on Friday (19), at 9:30 pm. Spaniard Alejandro Hernández will be the referee for the match valid for the second round of Group C of the World Cup.
The match will be broadcast by Globo, SBT, SporTV, CazéTV, ge and N Sports.
Hernández is considered one of the main referees in Spain and is the only representative of the country scheduled to officiate matches in this edition of the World Cup, played in the United States, Mexico and Canada. José Enrique Naranjo Pérez is also part of the tournament’s refereeing team, but as an assistant.
This year, Hernández refereed the classic between Barcelona and Real Madrid, in May, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Catalan team. The result guaranteed Lamine Yamal’s team their 29th Spanish Championship title.
Brazilians Vini Jr. and Raphinha, stars of the Spanish teams, were on the field in the clash.
Hernández also took charge of the first game of the Champions League round of 16 between PSG and Chelsea, a match that ended with the French team qualifying.
After debuting with a 1-1 draw against Morocco, the Brazilian team returns to the field against Haiti.
Changes are expected in Brazil’s starting lineup. Center forward Igor Thiago, who started the previous match among the starters, is likely to lose his place. Another change discussed is on the right side: starting last Saturday (13), Ibañez could start the next game on the bench.
This Tuesday, left-back Douglas Santos stated that Brazil cannot be “prideful” against Haiti, seen as the weakest participant in the group.
