Pour 3 tablespoons into the drum between dirty socks. After washing they will be white as snow
White socks are one of the most frequently worn items of clothing on warmer days. Unfortunately, light fabric quickly becomes dirty and gray, and even with standard machine washing, it is difficult to restore their former appearance and snow-white color. There is no denying that white socks are simply extremely difficult to keep clean. However, instead of giving up your favorite pair and throwing it into the trash, it is worth learning effective ways to whiten socks that will make them look like new for a long time. It is definitely better to give up strong bleach, which destroys the fabric with repeated use. Here it is worth investing in products that will restore their former appearance in just a few minutes. Therefore, pour 3 tablespoons of soda ash into the drum and set it. They will be as white as snow when they come out of the washing machine.
This safe bleach is available at Rossmann for PLN 10. Soda ash for whitening socks
You can buy soda ash, among others, at Rossmann, where it costs less than PLN 10. It’s great, so it’s perfect for dealing with gray socks. How to use it to whiten socks? Of course, there are two ways to do this. Add 3 tablespoons of soda ash directly to the washing machine drum and run the program for washing white fabrics, preferably at a high temperature, e.g. 60-90°C. You can also soak dirty socks in a bowl with water and baking soda. Dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of soda ash in about 3-5 liters of hot water. The hotter the water, the better the whitening effect. Soak heavily soiled socks in this solution for 3 hours and then wash them as usual in the washing machine with the addition of detergent.
Wash your socks in the washing machine to make them snow-white
Before you throw your white socks into the washing machine, make sure they don’t end up with colored clothes. It’s a simple rule, but often forgotten. Colored fabrics can dye, and we don’t want that. Separate white from light and dark colors. It is best to wash white socks at a temperature of 40-60 degrees Celsius. Higher temperatures can damage the fibers and cause the socks to shrink. Select a program for washing white fabrics or a program for washing cotton. Use washing powder or liquid intended for white fabrics.
