Registration is open until June 30th for the award, which recognizes reports on taxation, social control and the quality of public spending. Journalists with works published in print, radio, television or internet from December 1, 2025 to the date of registration can participate.
Four works will be selected as finalists. The two best-rated reports will receive the National Tax Award Trophy and a cash prize. First place will be awarded R$10,000, and second place will receive R$7,000.
Among the evaluation criteria are the quality of the investigation and writing, the contextualization of tax education concepts, the use of official data, the public interest and the originality of the approach.

Promoted by in partnership with federal agencies and entities linked to tax education, the award seeks to encourage the production of journalistic content on the social function of taxes, public transparency and the monitoring of government spending by society.
