Exsmerák Maďarič told Šimkovičová at Adela’s: In my opinion, enough is enough… And even the secretary Machala caught it!

Straight up, what does he think about leading representatives in culture! The former two-time head of culture for Smer Marek Maďarič debated with moderator Adela Vinczeová on a touchy subject. The podcast star Adela asked the former top scorer in a slightly different way, whether the communication between the artistic community and the management of the relevant ministry could be adjusted so that the edges on both sides are sharpened.

“Yes, now I mean, for example, the artists who are dissatisfied and the department that…,” Vincze started the question and got a clear answer from Maďarič. “I think not at the moment, because now we even have a situation where they speak completely different languages. And that was actually visible at the very beginning, when the minister, who in my opinion is quite incompatible with the culture, had her first famous statement. I think it was when the prime minister was inducting her into office that she said that the culture of the Slovak people must be Slovak and no other.” the ex-minister mentions.

“No one has anything against the culture of the Slovak people, but this is a language that speaks of a certain very narrow view of things and division, and it is also a matter of misunderstanding that Slovak culture is also European culture.” he stated, adding that then there is a person who, according to him, is actually a minister.

“Mr. Machala again said that we will only support what is normal. And that is again the language that we will look at what is normal and what is not normal. The minister will moralize that some picture that depicts some two men embracing each other should be hung. And that is a different type of language, the way the cultural community speaks and perceives the world, which is why there is misunderstanding and, in my opinion, mutual understanding and mutual coexistence are not possible.” added Maďarič in the Adela podcast in a slightly different way.
