Top Gear star diagnosed with aggressive cancer says disease was detected “very early”
Jeremy Clarkson announced that he has been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of cancer.
The former Top Gear presenter revealed the diagnosis during an episode of Clarkson’s Farm, a series that follows his efforts to manage a farm in England.
“I have cancer,” he told Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper, his companions on the program broadcast on Amazon Prime Video. “It is aggressive, but it was detected very early.”
Best known for presenting the motoring shows Top Gear and The Grand Tour, Jeremy Clarkson, 66, posted a video on his Instagram account on Tuesday in which he revealed that future episodes of Clarkson’s Farm would include .
“Normally we try to keep the program bucolic, charming and cheerful, but the last two episodes, which become available this morning, are nothing like that,” he said.
“They are difficult to see. Very, very difficult,” he added.
In October 2024, Clarkson revealed that he had undergone a serious heart procedure after suffering a “sudden deterioration” in his health.
“I was covered in cold sweat and felt tight in my chest,” he wrote in his Sunday Times column, before describing a trip to hospital, where he eventually underwent an operation to maintain blood flow to his heart.
Amazon Prime Video has not yet made any official announcement about the possibility of a sixth season of Clarkson’s Farm.
