In Bratislava, on Karloveska street, a tram collided with a minor pedestrian early Thursday evening. The one he suffered preliminary minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for further examinations. The Bratislava regional police informed about it on the social network.

“According to the information found so far, a minor boy entered the tramway of line number 4, heading to the city center, in the area intended for pedestrians to cross,” the police said.

She added that the exact circumstances and causes of the accident are under investigation. In this context, the police remind pedestrians that they are obliged to give priority to the tram in all circumstances. This also applies when crossing the tram line at uncontrolled pedestrian crossings.

He emphasizes that before entering the track, it is necessary to carefully look to both sides and make sure that the tram is not approaching. He points out that the tram has a significantly longer braking distance compared to motor vehicles, and its driver has only limited options to avoid a collision.
