PT candidate for government of Roraima hides Lula – 06/19/2026 – Panel

The candidate for the government of Roraima, Nelita Frank, has hidden the president from her social networks and even on radio and television.

Roraima will have a supplementary election for government next Sunday (21) after the (Superior Electoral Court) revokes the mandate of former governor Antonio Denarium (Republicans).

The state is known for having a majority of Bolsonarian voters. In 2022, Lula had less than 24% of voting intentions, against 76% for Jair Bolsonaro. Therefore, the strategy to be adopted in the state is to avoid nationalizing the campaign.

During free election hours on TV, the candidate mentions government proposals, such as combating illegal mining, strengthening environmental inspection and defending the protection of women and children.

But it does not mention or even use images of President Lula. Those asking for a vote for the candidate are two pre-candidates for the State Legislative Assembly, Roberto Ramos and Edgard Zanette.

Nelita was chosen as the PT candidate after the (Federal Supreme Court) signed an agreement on the party’s launch of Antônia Pedrosa, who ended up being blocked by the Supreme Court’s decision.

The candidate’s advisor stated, in a note, that Lula’s presence should not be analyzed only by appearances in plays and that the election calendar is extremely reduced, with debate focused on Roraima’s problems.

“The campaign chose to prioritize the presentation of proposals and direct dialogue with the population on local issues. President Lula’s support is public and known, but the campaign understood that the center of communication should be Roraima and the people of Roraima”, says the note.
