Magistrate Juan Carlos Peinado has decided to open a new line of investigation within the case brought against Begoña Gómez, wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez. The investigating judge, who celebrated (a necessary step to be able to sit her on the bench before a jury for crimes of embezzlement, business corruption, influence peddling and misappropriation), agreed this Thursday to give the green light to a new separate piece for an alleged crime of prevarication and another of fraud against the interests of the EU. The judge takes this initiative after receiving documentation from the European Prosecutor’s Office with suspicions about a contract awarded to one of the companies of businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés.
