One failure of a lane change device (AMV) in the station region Palmeiras-Barra Funda affected the circulation of trains in the CPTM Line 11-Coral on the morning of this Friday (19), causing slowdowns and full platforms at stations in the east of São Paulo.
According to the company, the problem was identified at 5:50 am and required maintenance teams to act until 7:05 am. During this period, trains ran at reduced speed and recorded longer stopping times between the Palmeiras-Barra Funda and Tatuapé stations.
In a note, CPTM informed that circulation began to return to normal during the morning after the completion of maintenance work. The company also stated that the incident had an impact on operations and regretted “the inconvenience caused to passengers”.
On social media, passengers reported difficulties boarding during peak hours, when the problem was recorded. One user stated that “you can’t even enter Itaquera”. Another complained about the crowding at one of the main stations on the line: “Plataforma de Guaianases is full, today we started the day badly.”
Line 11-Coral connects the Palmeiras-Barra Funda station, in the central region of the capital, to the municipality of Mogi das Cruzes, in Greater São Paulo.
