FIFA’s deadline for changes to the list of entries ended before the debut of the Brazilian team
Raphinha’s injury will not allow a new call-up to the Brazilian team for the World Cup. The striker left the field with pain in the hamstring of his right thigh in the 3-0 victory over the Haiti team on Saturday (June 20, 2026). The deadline for changes to the list of registrants has passed.
The authorized substitutions only up to 24 hours before each team’s debut in the tournament. In the case of Brazil, the deadline ended on June 12, one day before the match against Morocco. After that, it is no longer possible to replace players, regardless of the severity of any injury.
The only change made by the Brazilian delegation was made before the start of the competition. On June 7, right-back Wesley was cut after a friendly against Egypt. Midfielder Éderson was called up to fill the vacancy within the period allowed by FIFA.
Therefore, if Raphinha is unable to participate in the next matches, coach Carlo Ancelotti will have to look for alternatives among the athletes already registered. Endrick, Gabriel Martinelli, Luiz Henrique and Rayan are among the options for the right side of the attack.
The Brazilian Football Confederation did not inform the severity of the injury.
