The worst fall was a tandem that crashed into a tree in the area of a swimming pool full of people.
On Sunday afternoon, 18 parachutists decided to perform a tandem jump at the airport in the city of Rokycany in the west of the Czech Republic. Apparently, the strong wind caused some of the adrenaline sports lovers to fall uncontrollably.
“On Sunday, we received a notification about a plane crash in Rokycany. Due to the bad weather conditions, the paratroopers fell uncontrollably. The patrols immediately started looking for them,” police spokeswoman Barbora Kunešová is quoted as saying.
Fourteen paratroopers managed to jump, four were injured. The worst thing happened to the tandem, which collapsed in the area of the local swimming pool. It was full of people. Some of them saw the rapid descent of the parachutists and the crash into the tree.
The injured are already under the care of paramedics.
