The candidate Arthur Henrique (PL) it ended this Sunday (21) the supplementary election to the government of Roraima in front of the current head of the state Executive, Soldier Sampaio (Republicans), and Nelita Frank (PT). Not so much, the result will not be announced until a decision by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) or the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The measure is necessary because the Arthur Henrique’s candidacy is “sub judice” after a complaint to the STF. In a decision in favor of the question, Minister Flávio Dino overturned the rule of the Regional Electoral Court of Roraima (TRE-RR) that made the deadline for non-compatibilization more flexible for the election up to 24 hours after the party convention that announced the candidate’s name.
Dino rejected the TRE-RR measure. The minister argued that the deadline cannot be made flexible and must respect the deadline three or six months, depending on the position, defined in the Law of Ineligibility. By fit resource to the judge’s decision, Arthur Henrique ran as a “sub judice” candidate.
With 100% of the ballots counted, the result to the Executive of Roraima is:
- Arthur Henrique: 160,004 (60.87%);
- Sampaio Soldier: 93,897 (35.72%);
- Nelita Frank: 8.948 (3,40%).
The supplementary election in Roraima was called after the TSE declared the former governor, elected in 2022, Antonio Denarius ineligible for eight years and revoke the vice’s mandate, Edilson Damião. Both were convicted of abuse of political and economic power in the last general election.
In addition to the dispute in Roraima, there was a supplementary election in five municipalities. In Reginópolis (SP), João Paulo (PSD) won. In Tuiuti (SP), Careca (União Brasil). In Joviânia (GO), Elisberto da Retro (Podemos). In Amparo da Serra (MG), Aila da Farmácia (Avante). In Bonito de Minas (MG), Miqueias Figueiredo (Republicans).
