Latest political news, live | Bolaños describes the investigation of Begoña Gómez as “anomalous”: “Peinado has issued resolutions that are far from the law.”

The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, described this Monday as “anomalous” the investigation by Judge Juan Carlos Peinado against Begoña Gómez, the wife of the President of the Government. “I believe that Peinado has issued resolutions that are incomprehensible and far from the law,” Bolaños said in an interview on Cadena Ser. “When there is a case with resolutions that are far from the law, it is the system itself that has to revoke them,” he stated in reference to the work of the Judiciary. The General Council of the Judiciary will meet urgently starting at 9:00 a.m. to study possible disciplinary measures against Peinado. The latest decisions of the magistrate have precipitated the meeting, after he signed an 84-page resolution to open trial against Begoña Gómez and withdraw her passport. The wife of the President of the Government will appeal the precautionary measures that Judge Peinado imposed on Saturday when sending her to trial for four crimes. Peinado alleges in his resolution that the police officers who escort and supervise the security of the wife of the President of the Government can help her escape.
