Athens – In Greece, a large contingent of rescue workers was deployed on Monday to fight a large forest and bush fire near the motorway between Athens and Thessaloniki. Because of the heavy smoke, a section of the central Greek motorway was closed. 118 firefighters, 27 vehicles, eleven firefighting aircraft and three helicopters were deployed.
