Sumar: “Ferraz has to stop being a problem for the Government”
Sumar’s parliamentary spokesperson, Verónica Barbero, has urged the President of the Government to take advantage of the last year of the legislature. In a harsh but at the same time conciliatory tone, the deputy has acknowledged that she is “fed up” with the cases of corruption that affect the PSOE and has charged against Judge Juan Carlos Peinado, instructor of the case that has ended up opening oral proceedings against Pedro Sánchez’s wife, Begoña Gómez. “Ferraz has to stop being a problem for this Government,” Barbero claimed.
“Every time Ferraz has acted, the Government has gotten into a swamp. We are fed up with Leire Diez, Ábalos and Santos Cerdán as well as Judge Peinado’s attempts to destabilize this Government,” he said from the stands. “The answer to sewers cannot be to build other sewers,” he added at one point in the speech.
“We have chosen other values, another way of doing politics. We are not going to say that anything goes because others did it before. We want Spain to leave behind a political culture based on favors… we want to open windows where others have built walls. We have shown the way: regulation of the status of former presidents, anti-corruption agency and corrupters like Aldama, no water,” stated the deputy, who has described the actions of Hairstyle. “Mr. Feijoo, defend the public servants today,” he told him about the conclusion expressed by the judge that the bodyguards, national police, could help Gómez escape.
For Sumar’s parliamentary spokesperson, the PP only participates in the process of “overthrowing the Government by amplifying the scandal, deteriorating the institutions and waiting for others to do the work at the polls,” she accused.
