Social media users said they noticed buildings shaking in neighborhoods of Manaus, including Ponta Negra, Adrianópolis, Dom Pedro and Parque 10. In some cases, residents left the buildings as a precaution.
In videos shared on social media, it is possible to see the water in the pool of a condominium in Ponta Negra shaking during the episode. Similar reports were made by residents of condominiums in Adrianópolis and Parque 10, who said they felt fluctuations in the construction.

The Civil Defense of the State of Amazonas reported in a statement that a tremor was felt by residents of buildings located in several neighborhoods of Manaus and also in the municipalities of Barcelos and Iranduba.
“The phenomenon may be related to the reflections of a seismic shock recorded in the Caribbean Sea region, close to Venezuela, whose seismic waves would have been perceived in areas of the Amazon. Information about the origin and magnitude of the event is still being verified by the competent bodies”, he stated. According to the agency, there are no records of structural damage, collapses or victims related to the tremor.
There were reports of tremors also in Pará. Civil Defense stated that, in Belém, residents were removed from buildings in the neighborhoods of Umarizal, Jurunas, Cremação and Pedreira for evaluation by technical teams. There is no record of serious occurrences. Residents of Santarém (PA) also felt the tremor.
The Pará Military Fire Department stated that, after inspections carried out in buildings in Belém and Santarém, there are no records of structural damage or victims so far.
“The guidance is to remain calm and follow the recommendations of the responsible bodies. We continue to monitor the situation and adopt all necessary measures to guarantee the safety of our population”, said Igor Normando, mayor of Belém, on social media.
The Civil Defense of the State of Amapá reported that tremors were also noticed by residents of Macapá, Laranjal do Jari and Vitória do Jari. The agency said that there have been no reports of structural damage or victims so far and that it continues to monitor the case. “The situation is normalized and remains under observation by the competent authorities”, he stated.

The two earthquakes that hit Venezuela caused buildings to collapse in Caracas and were also felt in neighboring Colombia. They occurred less than a minute apart, in locations about 45 kilometers apart and at different depths, according to data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The first earthquake, of magnitude 7.2, occurred at 7:04 pm Brasília time. Its epicenter was near San Felipe, with a depth of 21.9 km. The second earthquake, measuring 7.5, occurred 39 seconds later, with an epicenter near Yumare and 10 km deep.
Tsunami warnings were issued for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, but were subsequently terminated. The USGS estimates that there could be 10,000 to 100,000 deaths in the South American country. Itamaraty stated that it is monitoring the situation through the Brazilian Embassy in Caracas. “To date, there are no reports of Brazilian citizens affected by the earthquakes,” the agency stated.
