Operation targeting deputy seizes helicopter and money

The PF (Federal Police) operation that targeted federal deputy Josimar Maranhãozinho (PL-MA) seized a helicopter and cash at the addresses of the targets of the investigation into the deviation of parliamentary amendments.

Investigations point to evidence of the existence of a structure made up of public and private agents allegedly intended to divert public resources. According to the investigations, the amounts would have been operationalized through Codevasf (Companhia de Desenvolvimento dos Vales do São Francisco and Parnaíba) and, subsequently, directed to the hiring of companies supposedly linked, directly or indirectly, to the group investigated.

The agents carried out a search and seizure warrant at Maranhãozinho’s house because the deputy is a partner in one of the companies being investigated. The decision that authorized the searches was made by Minister Flávio Dino, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court).

The PL deputy was convicted by the STF in March this year for deviating from amendments. He denied wrongdoing.

In total, 18 search and seizure warrants were executed in the Federal District and in the states of Goiás and Maranhão.

All seizures will be examined and will be confiscated during the process. The PF has not yet detailed the owner of the seized helicopter.

The deputy has not yet commented on the case.
