The influencer had started dating Diulia three months after Isabel’s death. At the time, the announcement sparked discussions on the internet about the time of mourning. Lucas stated that the farewell process began before his ex-wife passed away and that there is no deadline for experiencing the loss.

Isabel Veloso died on January 10, at Erasto Gaertner Hospital, in Curitiba. According to the medical institution, death was caused by complications from a bone marrow transplant carried out in October, after the patient presented clinical worsening and risks inherent to the procedure.
Diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2021at 15 years old, Isabel shared her treatment routine with more than 3 million followers. In 2024, after the cancer was classified as terminal and with no possibility of cure through traditional therapies, she began palliative care. In the same year, she married Lucas Borbas and became pregnant.
The couple’s son, Arthur, was born on December 28, 2024, in an early birth due to the disease progressing to the influencer’s lungs. At the beginning of 2025, Isabel announced that she was in remission and underwent a new bone marrow transplant donated by her father. However, less than 20 days after the procedure, she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with respiratory failure and Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD), remaining in serious condition until her death.
