The newly elected president of Colombia, (Defensores de la Patria, right), said, in a publication in X, that the people and governments of Latin America must work together to solve transnational problems.
The statement was made in response to the publication by (PT), which for victory in the election held last Sunday (June 14, 2026).
In his publication, Espriella stated that the Brazilian and Colombian people “they are united not only by challenges, but also by cultural, historical, environmental and commercial virtues”.
According to Espriella, his government “will seek a single objective: to fulfill the alliance with the people” and will count on the support of the PT member to achieve its goals.

The result was confirmed by the official recount of votes carried out by commissions made up of judges, notaries and other electoral officials. The procedure, called scrutiny, began on Monday (June 22) and concluded on Tuesday (June 23), with confirmation of the preliminary result.
