Žulčák filmed in an exotic setting, described the horrified looks: They were looking at us, weren’t they?!

TV JOJ comes with another new serial for lovers of exoticism, drama and love. After Love in Istanbul, viewers can expect a free sequel set in hot Tunisia. Script under the direction of Martina Baranová Ivana Holuba offers stories that you will fall in love with.

In the series The smell of the sea stars Marián Mitaš, Daniel Žulčák, Jana Labajová, Alena Pajtinková, Tomáš Mischura, Diana Ristová and others. Ambassador Martin Skala (Marián Mitaš) After spending two years in New York, he finds himself in Tunis, where he participates in the opening of the new Slovak embassy. He is a prominent character in the series Lucia (Natália Germáni), the owner of a travel agency, who moves between tourists, local residents and the diplomatic environment of the embassy.

Nina (Jana Labajová) and Filip (Daniel Žulčák) also live out their story at the embassy. Both are promoted, with Filip taking on the post of consul, which the ambitious Nina can hardly bear. The series will bring ten stories taking place in exotic Tunisia, which connect the space of the newly opened Slovak embassy and its employees.

The character of Filip, played by Daniel Žulčák, she is given a more important role and must be responsible. At the same time, there is a spark between him and his colleague, with whom they have been catching up all their lives. Filming in exotic Tunisia was about something completely different than before in Turkey.

“Come on, it’s an experience that you just go to a location where you fly a plane. That was the first experience even with the previous series, with those Love in Istanbul. I was done with it because I hadn’t even shot in Prague yet and I’m already flying to Istanbul. That was amazing. And here with this Tunis it was so different that from that Turkey I traveled up and down so much that I turned it around seven times and suddenly it seemed normal to me, that yes, people fly for work like this too.” approached Cocktail with musician Teri Čikoš Žulčák.

“I was in Tunis for seven weeks straight. I flew there at the end of June and returned in mid-August. I actually completed the entire production there without returning to Slovakia. And it was very nice, because it was not a studio. Those locations were excellent there. For the first three weeks, we were in such a closed part, as if in a resort where we lived. The embassy was filmed there and the ambassador’s house and kitchen were filmed there, where things and everything are taken apart. We had a pool there, we had a nice breakfast there, a nice dinner, so it was great and then we traveled around Tunis and discovered new places.” revealed details from the filming.

He also takes away memories from this country. “I have great memories of it, and it was a great experience for me, both personally and professionally. To tune in with strangers who may think differently about their work than we do here. And that you’re outside, and that it’s warm, and that you just sweat in those ties and walk for 12 hours. So it was also for your own sake, as if for humility or something, to stop here, there’s no need to fool around in the break, but concentrate on it, because you still have six hours of hard work ahead of you,” he added.

He got used to the country and decided to try what it had to offer. “Our assistant director and I ordered a roasted mutton’s head from the cook. It was like… the kids were looking at us saying, are you really going to have it, and that yes, they just offer it, so we want to taste it.” revealed the actor, saying that the taste did not disappoint at all!
