Valdemar on Flávio and Michelle: ‘If we don’t understand each other, we will lose the election’

The national president of the Liberal Party (PL), Valdemar Costa Neto, advanced his return from Miami to Brazil with the aim of resolving the conflict between Flávio and Michelle Bolsonaroafter by the party, Flávio Bolsonaro.

In an interview with GZH, Valdemar stated that the two need to reach an understanding on the eve of the presidential election. “If we don’t understand each other, we will lose the election and the one who will stop is Bolsonaro.”

The recent conflict between Michelle and Flávio was motivated by the support of the party’s pre-candidate for Ciro Gomes (PSDB) in the Ceará electoral dispute. The former first lady is against the decision and said it was humiliated by his stepson when he tried to communicate his opinion. According to Costa Neto, the PL support for Ciro is not the party’s preferencebut it is essential so that they do not lose to PT.

Ciro even fights with his brother, he fights with the whole family, that’s his way, but what happens is not our preference. Ciro is a serious man, who has many flaws, he had flaws in attacking everyone, but he is the only one who has a chance of beating the PT. If we don’t go with him, the governor of Ceará will be the PT; If we go with him, he wins the election.

In the interview, Valdemar says that does not believe there was disrespect on Flávio’s partas Michelle accused. In his view, the fight is motivated by political support. “In several places we have problems, it’s not just there, no; it’s just that there she has a very strong candidate, who will be our federal deputy.”

The former president’s wife published a video on her social networks on Wednesday (24), saying she had been humiliated by Flávio: “He mistreated me and said I should stay out of party decisions.” Michelle also stated that her stepson comes to her house every week and I never said I wanted your support in the candidacy.

According to the former first lady, Flávio “stabbed” her when defending deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE), who is president of the PL in Ceará. Fernandes declared support for the pre-candidate for the government of Ceará, Ciro Gomes (PSDB), who, according to Michelle, he called Flávio himself and his brothers corrupt and “eggs of Nazi snakes”.

She is against the PL supporting Ciro Gomes for the state government and wants councilor Priscila Costa (PL-CE) to be one of the party’s Senate candidates. Deputy André Fernandes said the day before that Michelle’s wish would not change the party’s decision in any way.

Flávio’s response

The former president’s son said he tried to contact Michelle this Wednesday morning (24) to invite her to participate in a meeting organized by senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF) with female leaders, but he received no response.
