Arrested since Thursday (25), São Paulo councilor Senival Moura asked to leave the PT this Saturday, arguing that he would dedicate himself to his defense and not harm the party’s image.
“We inform you that councilor Senival Moura sent, this Saturday, to the management of the PT São Paulo Municipal Directory, the request to withdraw his affiliation with the Workers’ Party, with the justification of dedicating himself to its defense and not linking the latest events to the party”, says the note from the PT, signed by its president in the city of São Paulo, councilor Hélio Rodrigues.
Senival is suspected of participating in a money laundering scheme for the (Primeiro Comando da Capital) through the concessionaire Transunião, which operates two public transport lots in the capital of São Paulo.
The councilor underwent a custody hearing this Friday, and the São Paulo Court maintained his arrest.
According to the Civil Police, for the criminal faction. The councilor, according to the investigation, “instrumentalized Transunião for the operationalization of a clandestine financial system”, aimed at the economic support of individuals linked to the PCC.
Senival’s defense says that the arrest caused outrage and the “truth will prevail”.
