Iran carried out missile and drone attacks against Kuwait and Bahrain in response to recent US attacks this Saturday (27), the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) reported.
The offensive was a joint operation between the naval and aerospace forces of the IRGC, which stated that any violation of the ceasefire contradicts the Islamabad Agreement and will paralyze ongoing processes.
The group said that vessels that violate the rules will be dealt with more rigorously, and that any “enemy aggression” will receive “an overwhelming response.”
“Violating the ceasefire contravenes Clause 1 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and will result in the complete halt of all diplomatic processes,” the Guard said in a statement, Iranian state media Press TV reported.
Iran’s offensive comes hours after CENTCOM (US Central Command) reported that the US Armed Forces carried out more attacks against Iranian targets in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on the social network X, CENTCOM stated that the attack took place after Iran launched a drone that hit a Panamanian-flagged oil tanker this Saturday morning.
The US military reported that military aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities and mine-laying capabilities.
The transit of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz should continue normally, the statement added.
