With its location in western Slovakia, Trenčín is anything but difficult to reach by train from eastern Austria. The journey from Vienna via Bratislava only takes two and a half hours, and there are between ten and 14 connections every day. Unfortunately, you always have to check on a case-by-case basis whether it is possible to take a bicycle with you. But it’s definitely worth having one available on site. There is a rental shop at House of Bike in the old town center, and larger hotels also offer bikes for guests. Cycling is the favorite activity in the green surroundings of Trenčín – which is why 1,400 kilometers of signposted routes and mountain bike trails have been created.
