The daily family series Sľub began to be broadcast on Markíza TV on Monday, January 13, 2025. It immediately won the huge favor of viewers. It is a unique TV series in which viewers are transported to the turning point of the 1980s through the families of teachers and students. While the third season was running in our country, the series got its space on Czech television Nova Lady from January 1, 2026. However, audience reactions are mixed.
The promise was not completely new to Czech viewers. It was available on the Oneplay streaming platform, where other Slovak hits such as Dunaj, k váče svenés or Horná Dolná are also available. In Slovakia, we know this service under the name Voyo. The plot of the series takes place in an elementary school. It intertwines not only the destinies of pupils and teachers, but also of entire families, which are affected by events in our country and in the surrounding world.
This topic is also close to our western neighbors. On the Nova Lady social network, however, viewers’ opinions differ in the comments. “This is one of the few super series. I won’t miss a single episode,” she praised the Slovak work of Martina.
“I really like the series. There are problems that really were, it maps the time very nicely and I appreciate the furnishings and costumes,” added Jana. “I like the series so much. At first I thought he wouldn’t catch me. But there are such great actors that it’s simply fun,” Lussy revealed.
Some admitted doubts. “I experienced that time and I understand the Slovak language. But it’s a different time, so I think a lot of people will swear,” thinks Jarka. Others did not put a napkin in front of their mouths and openly wrote that they consider the series stupid.
The audience does not like the language. “I don’t like it, it’s hard to understand them, so I give up,” admitted Květoslava. “Bloody hell. Why are they showing Slovak series?” asked Katka. You can find more comments in the gallery.
