SBT and N Sports, a sports channel that has Galvão Bueno as one of its partners, announced that they will not show the match between South Africa and Canada, in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, this Sunday (28), at 4pm, in Los Angeles.
In a statement, the consortium of broadcasters attributed the cancellation to an “adjustment in the official World Cup broadcast schedule.”
Like all matches at this year’s World Cup, the clash between the two teams will be shown on CazéTV.
On Monday (29), SBT and N Sports will broadcast Brazil and Japan, at 2pm, and Germany and Paraguay, at 5:30pm.
In 40 years, Canada participated in two World Cups without winning a match. South Africa played three others and had never survived the group stage either.
Qualifying for the 32nd stage already represents the best campaign in the history of both teams in the World Cup, which came in second place in their brackets. This Sunday, one of them will reach the round of 16 for the first time.
