The war against Iran did not change “Chinese time” in relation to Beijing’s strategic objectives, but it allowed China to position itself more emphatically as the power challenging the United States.
The evaluation is by professor Military Sciences from Eceme (Army Command and General Staff School) Eduardo Migon in participation in the WW Special: The world after the war against Iranwhich aired this Sunday (28; watch).
For the Eceme professor, Iran proved to be a useful proxy for the Chinese to wear down the United States.
“If, in a 100-day conflict, 50% of the American arsenal is diluted, he (Xi Jinping, president of China) has more freedom of action to, in a meeting in China, convey messages to President (of the United States, Donald) Trump,” said Migon.
