The lives of two women were claimed by a traffic accident involving a truck and a passenger car, which occurred on Monday afternoon in Giraltovci (Svidník district). All emergency services are on the scene and the road is currently impassable. The Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Prešov informs about this on the social network.
According to the police, it was a collision between a truck, driven by a 34-year-old Romanian, and a car driven by a 57-year-old man. “In the accident, a female passenger in a car, aged 78 and 25, suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.The police informs that the 57-year-old driver was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
According to the police, the truck driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test, the result was negative. The road is currently impassable, traffic is diverted in the direction of Vranov nad Topľou. The district investigator in Svidník in the case started criminal prosecution for the crime of murder.
