The family of Zlatica Švajdová Puškárová (49) and Patrik Švajda (54) started a new phase of life last year. The big change was made by their 16-year-old son Leonard, who received an offer to play in a prestigious Swedish hockey club. His first season abroad was successful, and the youngster was ranked first in the table of the best players.
Despite the great results in the summer, he is not idle and is preparing hard for the new season in Sweden. Puskárová showed his training on the ice on Instagram, and her husband Patrik was also there, who went to the cold arena early with bare feet. “We’re cold, this one in flip-flops,” wrote the popular presenter, clutching her head. Puskárová admits that she likes to share her child’s achievements, but approaches them with great humility. “I would never have thought that our son would put such a fundamental life question on the table at the age of fifteen. But behind what people see on the outside, there are thousands of hours of hard work, discipline and a strict regime. Few people know our ‘shadow life’.” she admitted recently.
“It happened that Paťo would deliver Leo to training sessions even at 04:00 a.m., then he would run to the news, we drove to Nitra, Trnava… Our itinerary was subordinated to hockey for years. Many will say to themselves: ‘They are famous faces, it’s easier for them,’ but the truth is that few people would trade this regime with us,” explained the star of TV Markíza.
Moderator Patrik Švajda is also clear about this. He confirms his wife’s words and adds his own. “We can’t call it a definitive success yet, but Leo is on an excellent path. He is in an organization that produces players for the NHL. The fact that he was chosen by such a top Swedish club is a success in itself. How he handles that chance is up to him. We have taken care of the sports service until now, now it is in his hands. He goes like a saw, but whether he will become a hockey star is still in the stars,” stated the proud father.
