Bia Haddad loses to Uzbek and is eliminated in Wimbledon debut

A Brazilian Beatriz Haddad was eliminated, this Tuesday (30), from Wimbledon losing to Uzbek Maria Timofeeva by 2 sets to 0. The current number 134 in the world rankings was defeated with scores of 6/3 and 6/2 in the opening round of the third Grand Slam of the year.

The result marks the Brazil’s eighth consecutive defeatwho hasn’t won a match since the end of April. With the early elimination, Bia Haddad must leave the group of the 150 best in the world. In 2023, the athlete reached the top 10 of the ranking and reached the round of 16 in the English tournament.

In the first set, the Brazilian had her serve broken at the beginning, managed to recover, but made mistakes again and lost 6/3. In the second half, Timofeeva took an early lead and managed the score to finish at 6/2.

Before Wimbledon, Bia Haddad was eliminated in her debut at the tournaments in Rome, Clarins, Strasbourg, Roland Garros, Queen’s and Figueira da Foz.
