Tarcísio allocates R$3.45 million to indigenous people from SP – 06/30/2026 – Panel

The government (Republicans) will release R$3.45 million for a state program that pays indigenous communities that work in biodiversity conservation, territorial protection, environmental restoration, fire prevention and monitoring of forests in their territories.

According to the state government, the transfer marks the 40th anniversary of the Fundação Florestal, the body responsible for managing state conservation units (parks, forests and ecological stations).

The Payment for Environmental Services (PSA) Guardians of the Forests program exists in 22 indigenous territories. Another 20 are expected to be included in the program with the extra resources and are expected to benefit more than 600 indigenous families, according to the government. Since 2022, when it was created, the initiative has already received R$6.4 million in investments.
