The new phase of the program allows you to combine unlimited train travel with six nights in Youth Hostels, in a limited offer and subject to request through the official platform.
The program opened a new batch of 10,000 free vouchers for young people up to the age of 30 to travel by train for seven days and sleep six nights in Youth Hostels.
The initiative is from , in partnership with CP, and allows beneficiaries to travel around Portugal on CP trains and stay in the Youth Hostel network at no cost, under the conditions of the program.
The official portal already presents the option “Request your Voucher now”.
Each voucher gives access to seven consecutive days of unlimited train travel and six nights of accommodation in Youth Hostels. Stays must be at least two nights per guesthouse and include breakfast, according to the program regulations.
CP believes that the program, launched in 2024, allows the use of Intercity, Urban, Regional and InterRegional trains. On Intercidades, travel is in 2nd class and requires a free and mandatory seat reservation at a CP ticket office.
The program is aimed at young people residing in Portugal who are up to 30 years old and meet the stipulated conditions. Included are, among others, young people who are between 18 and 30 years old in 2026, inclusive, and students who complete high school in the 2025/2026 academic year.
The official website although it is not mandatory to have Portuguese nationality, but it is necessary to have a Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key.
To request the voucher, you must access the ANDA Know Portugal platform, have or subscribe to the Jovem Card for free and authenticate yourself using the Digital Mobile Key. Once issued, the voucher is sent by email.
Accommodation reservations can be made immediately on the Youth Hostels website, but train tickets can only be obtained at a CP ticket office at least two working days after receiving the voucher.
The issuance of accommodation and train vouchers is limited to 30 thousand per year, divided into three periods: March, June and September, each with 10 thousand vouchers. According to , this second batch of 2026 was announced on June 30, after the first vouchers, released in March, quickly sold out.
Not all Youth Hostels are included. The regulation excludes Melgaço, Viseu, Serra da Estrela, Braga, Setúbal and Arrifana. The accommodation included is in a single bed in a shared multiple room, and the voucher is personal, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or another service.
According to CP, vouchers issued in 2026 can be used until July 4, 2027. Anyone who wants to request a voucher must do so while vouchers are available.
