The senator (-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency, brought together a group of women this Wednesday (1st) to try to build a positive agenda with female voters. The effort takes place in the midst of Flávio’s crisis with his stepmother, the former first lady (PL).
Michelle did not want to go to the meeting, and Senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF), one of her best friends, also refused to participate, showing discomfort with the pre-candidate.
One of the main complaints around the former first lady is Flávio’s silence in the face of the attacks suffered by her and her allies on social media after the video was released.
In her view, Flávio did not repudiate or disauthorize these actions.

She communicated the decision to the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, in an almost two-hour meeting at the party. From there, he went to the Federal District Government headquarters, where he met with the governor, Celina Leão (PP), and Damares — two of his main advisors.
Damares herself was the target of criticism on social media from businessman and influencer Paulo Figueiredo, now the right-hand man of the impeached federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) in the United States.
In a criticism of Michelle, Figueiredo recorded a video in which — especially single women, as married women would tend to accompany their husbands. “They can pull the pubes out of their panties, do whatever they want, especially the feminists, who have more pubes,” he said.
During this Wednesday’s meeting, Flávio said he “vehemently repudiated” Figueiredo’s speech. The senator stated that he does not participate in the campaign and that he felt offended.
“I don’t agree with what he said, completely wrong. He is not part of our campaign. Obviously he is a person who helps us a lot in the United States […] Because of this, people try to put a speech in my lap that is not mine”, stated the senator.
Damares was called by Flávio to try to organize the meeting hours before Michelle’s video was released. The senator had initially stated that she would participate in the meeting and bring suggestions for the government plan.
An ally who did not want to be identified told the report that she preferred to consult Michelle before confirming her presence at the meeting with Flávio. She said Michelle encouraged her to attend because she understood it would be important to this participant’s life.
One of the pivots of the fight between Michelle and her stepchildren, Fortaleza councilor Priscilla Costa (PL) attended the agenda with Flávio. Current vice-president of PL Mulher, Priscila should assume the presidency of the group. She said she has not yet spoken to the former first lady about the transition.
Flávio’s allies minimized the disagreement with Michelle. “Anyone who has a big family knows, everything gets sorted out in the end. This pre-campaign period is when you have to wash your dirty laundry. During the campaign, everyone hugs each other and adjusts”, said the leader of the PL in the Senate, Carlos Portinho (RJ).
