At BA, Lula says that education was not going well during the Costa administration when Jerônimo was a candidate

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Wednesday, 1st, that “education was not good” in Bahia during Rui Costa’s government. The speech was a kind of “bite and blow” from the president, who praised the election of Jerônimo Rodrigues in 2022.

“Who believed that Jerônimo would be elected? I remember that education was not good here. They said that Jerônimo would lose”, he stated.

Lula, who said that “every companion is a brother”, called the senator, with whom he has been friends for decades, “Galician” and told how Wagner decided to be a candidate in 2006 and became governor, helping in the election of Rui Costa in 2014 and Jerônimo in 2022.

The president also criticized the former mayor of Salvador ACM Neto (União Brasil) and called him a “liar”. ACM was defeated by Jerônimo in the dispute for state government in 2022.

“(Jaques) Wagner said: He (Jerônimo) will win. His opponent (ACM Neto) had 60%. He is such a liar that he even wanted to pass as black”, he stated.

“When a relative of the ACM takes the responsibility of being a candidate to say that he was black, what is he doing? He is showing that even he wants to be like a black person, that’s why he wants to pass as black. He wants to get into the quota at the university. This is a source of pride, because it is your achievement”, he added.

Lula participated in the inauguration of a hospital that will serve 18 municipalities in the Alagoinhas region (BA). During his speech, the president said that he is “Lula with two faces”.

“I’m Lula with two faces. I’m Lula, a metalworker, a traveler from the Northeast who knows the miserable life that poor people lead in this country, and Lula, president of the Republic, who has access to the best food, the best hospitals, everything the rich have. And I haven’t forgotten that Dona Lindu, when she gave birth to me, didn’t have coffee. I haven’t forgotten where I came from. And I won’t forget where I’m going to go back to when I leave the Presidency of the Republic”, he said.
