CCR and Neoenergia sign partnership for wind self-production in the Northeast

Mobility company will assume minority control in 3 plants in the Neoenergia Oitis complex, in the semi-arid region

closed an agreement to assume minority control in 3 plants in the wind complex, located in the southeast of Piauí and in the north of Bahia. The energy generated by the Oitis 2, Oitis 4 and Oitis 6 wind farms will meet 60% of the company’s current demand.

The contract is part of the commitment made by the group to have 100% of its assets supplied by renewable sources by 2025. The goal was met this year through a strategy that included the migration of assets to the free market, the purchase of (International Certificates of Renewable Energy, in English) and investments in distributed solar generation.

In the company’s assessment, in addition to promoting access to clean energy, the business mitigates exposure to risks related to price fluctuations in the free energy market.

Neoenergia Oitis is a wind complex formed by 12 farms, located in the municipalities of Dom Inocêncio (PI) and Casa Nova (BA). With 103 wind turbines of 5.5 MW each, the total installed capacity is 566.5 MW, enough to supply a city with 2.7 million inhabitants.

The closing of the transaction is subject to approval by the competent bodies.
