Speech comes after US President Donald Trump defends the annexation of the neighboring country
Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Liberal, Center) said his priority in negotiations with King Charles 3, at the meeting they will have on Monday (3.mar.2025), will be to protect the sovereignty of his country. The speech came after US President Donald Trump (Republican), the Annexation of Canada to the US territory. Trudeau also announced a 25% tariff about US products.

Trudeau said nothing is more important to his citizens than “Defend sovereignty and independence” from Canada.

As always, we will discuss important issues for Canada, and I can say that nothing seems more important to Canadians than defending our sovereignty and independence as a nation ”Trudeau said in an interview with journalists about the meeting he will have with the King of the United Kingdom.
