A comic book for children and a game of memories about the 1932 Revolution, sponsored with a parliamentary amendment of R $ 300 thousand, brought as characters himself and three colleagues from MBL (Free Brazil Movement): the federal deputy (União-SP), the councilwoman Amanda Vettorazzo (Union) and the former deputy Arthur do Val.
The tribute was made last year. In the comic book, edited by the Veterans Society of 32 – MMDC, the author of the amendment is presented as “Gutinho”, grandson of one of the soldiers in São Paulo.
At the end of the story, the character praises “the effort of the Paulistas” and makes a plea: “Jesus Christ for humanity, the Paulista soldier throughout Brazil”.
On social networks, Guto published photo with the magazine in front of the Ibirapuera Obelisk in September last year. “I turned comic!”
In a statement, the MBL says that the decision to choose the characters was made by the board of the veterans entity as a tribute and that the movement was unaware of the content of comics.
“The tribute in question was only revealed during an event of the entity itself, including as a surprise to the MBL members who were there, with the aim of grateful to the partnership over the last years in similar social projects and social actions,” says the group.
The comic magazine contains 24 pages and had a circulation of at least a thousand copies.
The amendment sponsored, in addition to the comic book and the memory game, exhibition, guided tours of the obelisk and workshops.
The panel was unable to contact representatives of the 32 – MMDC Veterans Society.
