Bahia is preparing a new uniform to be launched in the current season. In partnership with singer Carlinhos Brown, the Bahian club will release a shirt in honor of Black November. The new outfit will be officially used on November 20th, Black Consciousness Day, in the clash with Palmeiras, at 6pm, at Fonte Nova.
The new uniform will be launched at an event with Carlinhos Brown, this Wednesday (13), at Candyall Guetho Square. According to the Esquadrão, the shirt will be blue and “brings cultural elements present in the trajectory of the multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer from Bahia, son of Candeal”.
“The elements drawn on the print of the shirt and on the sleeves refer to body painting, an art recovered from the ancestry of African tribes and which was incorporated by Carlinhos Brown, especially in Timbalada, the most successful creation of the artist’s career. The brands, which become icons of a Salvador that celebrates, they are on the shirt, reinforcing ties of Bahianness and a culture that only Bahia has”, says a note released by Bahia.
“As a signature, the shirt features “Made in CandyAll”, an allusion to the neighborhood where Carlinhos Brown was born, grew up and redefined itself as an “urban quilombo” that overflows with resistance, culture, art and music”, he adds.
After the launch, the new shirt will go on sale in the club’s official stores from Thursday (14), at a cost of R$299.
Currently 8th in the Brasileirão, Bahia is fighting for a place in the Libertadores, but is going through a turbulent phase. The Esquadrão hasn’t won in five matches and in the last round they were defeated by Juventude, away from home.
